Section 12
Holiday

(1) The General Secretary and the Secretary shall be entitled to the following holidays with full remuneration:-
(a) Festival holidays and superannuation holidays,
(b)   Home leave,
(c)   Sick leave,
(d)   Kiriya leave,
(e)   Maternity leave, and
(f)   Maternity leave
(2) The General Secretary and the Secretary will be allowed to take six days of holiday and six days of festive leave every year.
(3) The General Secretary and the Secretary shall get home leave at the rate of one day for twelve days of their working period. Home leave can be accumulated up to a maximum of one hundred and eighty days. For the purpose of home leave, the working period will be added to the working days including the days of the upcoming holidays and festival holidays and public holidays.
(4) The General Secretary and the Secretary will get twelve days sick leave every year. Any amount of such sick leave can be accumulated.
(5) The Secretary General and the Secretary, if they have to stay in Kirya themselves, will be allowed to take Kirya leave for a maximum of fifteen days depending on religion.
(6) If the general secretary or secretary is pregnant, they will get ninety-eight days of maternity leave before or after delivery.
(7) If the wife of the general secretary or secretary gives birth, the general secretary or secretary will get fifteen days maternity care leave before or after the delivery at most twice during the service period.
(8) If the Secretary-General or the Secretary retires from his position, he shall be entitled to receive from the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament a lump-sum payment of the accrued leave in accordance with sub-sections (3) and (4) at the rate of the lost wages.
(9) If the general secretary or secretary dies before receiving the amount due under sub-section (8), the person deemed to be entitled to family pension or gratuity under section 16 shall be entitled to receive that amount.
